A Weekend in London

Top 10 London Stops
London is a bustling, busy town with so much to see and do. The subway was the best mode of transportation and the quickest way to see the most with just one weekend! Here are the 10 must sees for a quick weekend!

-
Buckingham Palace- Of course the palace is a must see! Regardless of your views of royalty, the palace is quite magnificent and the gates alone to the palace are something to admire. As our visit was so close to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee there were quite a few roads blocked off to get to the palace. You can observe the Queens Guard and of course snap a few photos!
-
Big Ben, Palace of Westminster, and Westminster Abbey- These three landmarks are right around the corner from each other! Westminster Abbey is the home to many royal weddings and events. This Abbey is quite magnificent and tours occur throughout the week! Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster are quite the sight to see! Both are right along the river! For best photographs definitely walk half way across the Westminster Bridge to get a great view!
-
Afternoon Tea at Fortnum and Mason- Embracing the afternoon tea experience is a must! Fortnum and Mason has an amazing menu of teas, scones, biscuits, and cakes. Come with your best manors and an empty stomach. You will definitely feel like royalty after this tea!
-
Tower Bridge- Most tourists believe this bridge to be London Bridge but it is in fact Tower Bridge! This iconic bridge is right next to the Tower of London which stores all the crown jewels! If you have extra time definitely check out this museum!
-
Kensington Palace- The Kensington Palace has been home to many royals including William and Kate currently! The palace is open for tours and has a beautiful garden attached which pays homage to the late Lady Diana. The walk to Kensington is beautiful and there is a park surrounding the palace! This is a great location for a picnic or walk around the swan filled pond in front of Kensington!
-
English Pub- Go to a traditional English pub for a refreshing pint and fish and chips! Not only are the fish and chips delicious but the atmosphere is just fun! Many of the english stop by a pub after work to grab a quick pint and many can be found drinking outside on a nice day and many of the pubs have a small seating arrangement inside!
-
Check out a Michelin Star Restaurant- Not only does London have a great variety and mix of food but it has the sixth largest number of Michelin stars in the world! I recommend Story located just down the street from Tower Bridge! The restaurant has an intimate setting with evolving seasonal British dishes and just gained an additional Michelin Star this past year!
-
Wimbledon- A must see for any tennis fan! Wimbledon is tucked away in south west London and opens to visitors at 10am most of the week! I would recommend and Uber or Taxi to this location as it is quite tucked away from the subway!
-
Parent Trap House- For any Disney Parent Trap lover stopping by the London House is such a fun quick stop! Live out your Lindsay Lohan and Denise Quad dreams!
-
Bond Street and Harrods- Bond Street is home to luxury shopping and revered around the world! Even if you don't plan to buy anything just walking up the street and admiring all the fashion is amazing! You might even spot a royal like I did! Harrods is also an amazing department store in London! It is unlike any department store in the world and has a room for almost anything you can imagine from high fashion to food and drink! It is a one stop shop for everything you can think of!
